Langley Church

Langley Church in Berkshire has various churches for distinct religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Langley is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been falling for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the populace presiding at least once every month, nonetheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the rationale for the decline is in simple terms that people don't have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Langley community then it's truly shocking figures are going down. Surely we all want our Langley to be a great location to be alive, where individuals get along, they assist one another in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Langley church and plea for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly a soul wishes to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as regional schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, various people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, in view of his anti-gay rhetoric in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good place to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a diversion that can keep children smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
