Leighton Buzzard Church

Leighton Buzzard Church in Bedfordshire has several churches for different religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Leighton Buzzard is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been dropping for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the rationale for the decline is just that people don't have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Leighton Buzzard community then it's truly astounding figures are going down. Surely we all want our Leighton Buzzard to be a great location to dwell, where people get along, they assist one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Leighton Buzzard church and pressure for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly anybody wishes to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into account his anti-gay language in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet spot to be - a good place to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep kids pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
