Kilmarnock Church

Kilmarnock Church in Ayrshire has a lot of churches for different religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Kilmarnock is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been dipping for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once every month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the explanation for the decline is just that people do not have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Kilmarnock community then it is in reality astounding numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Kilmarnock to be a good spot to inhabit, where individuals get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Kilmarnock church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-homosexual words in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful position to be - a good space to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a diversion that can keep kids amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
