Inverurie Church

Inverurie Church in Aberdeenshire has many churches for separate religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Inverurie is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been dipping for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the cause for the decline is simply that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the planet and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to understand peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches represent in our Inverurie community then it's truly astounding numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Inverurie to be a splendid place to dwell, where individuals get along, they assist one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Inverurie church and make a request change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, poor and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, many people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-homosexual language in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful spot to be - a good place to ruminate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
